硼镁铁矿：分子式：(Mg, Fe)2Fe(BO3)O2，硼矿的主要矿物组分之一。含三氧化二硼16%。斜方晶系，晶体呈针状，集合体常呈放射状或粒状块体。呈暗绿色或黑色。暗淡的丝绢光泽。硬度5.5～6，密度3.6～4.7g/cm3。产于蛇纹石化白云石大理岩或镁矽卡岩中，常与磁铁矿、透辉石、金云母、镁橄榄石等共生。制取硼及硼化物原料。
理论研究表明欲提取硼镁铁矿中的硼，直接焙烧硼镁铁矿，然后浸出是相当困难的。
Results show that it is rather difficult to extract boron from ludwigite if roasting direct the ludwigite and then leaching.
结果表明磁铁矿的粒度粗细不均，多数硼镁石的粒度细，常以微晶粒状集合体与磁铁矿和蛇纹石共生。
The result indicated that granularity magnetite was uneven. Most of Ascharite particles is fine and intergrowth with magnetite and Zermattite.
