石膏汤出自《外台秘要》卷一引《深师方》。方剂组成为：石膏30克 黄连 黄柏 黄芩各6克 香豉9克（绵裹） 栀子9克（擘） 麻黄9克（去节）。本方主治为伤寒表证未解，里热炽盛，故解表与清里兼顾。方中石膏清热除烦为君，麻黄、豆豉发汗解表为臣，黄连、黄柏、黄芩、栀子以泻三焦之火为佐。配合成方，发表而不助里热，清热而不失治表，洵为表里双解之良剂。
