电子束焊机是利用高速运动的电子束流轰击工件的原理进行焊接加工的一种比较精密的焊接设备，它基本上代表了最高性能的焊接水平。真空电子束焊在焊接过程中利用定向高速运动的电子束流撞击工件使动能转化为热能而使工件熔化，形成焊缝。电子束能量密度高达108瓦/厘米2，能把焊件金属迅速加热到很高温度，因而能熔化任何难熔金属与合金。它不需要填充材料，一般在真空中进行焊接，焊缝纯净、光洁、无氧化缺陷。
