理论生物物理（theoretical biophysics）是理论物理和生物学的交叉学科。生物物理学是运用物理学的原理与方法研究生物问题的交叉学科。包括分子生物物理、细胞和膜生物物理、感觉和神经生物物理及理论生物物理等分支。各个分支都有其特有的理论部分，但理论生物物理并不是它们的简单总和，而是更加强调用理论物理学的基本原理去为生物学提供新的思想、概念，从而诞生新的生物学理论。
