玻利维亚高原位于南美洲，平均高度3800米，面积35万平方公里。中部为山谷地区，农业发达，许多大城市集中于此。高原北部土地肥沃，为人口聚居区；南部是干燥的沙漠地带，人烟稀少，只散布着一些因开发矿产而形成的小镇。高原上的的的喀喀湖（与秘鲁共有），为南美最大的湖泊。
