牡丹花会是中国古老的传统民俗活动。起于隋唐，盛于宋朝。每年四月是牡丹盛开的时节，各地牡丹花会徐徐而来。现如今，国内规模较大的牡丹花会举办地有三处：一是中国洛阳牡丹文化节（洛阳牡丹花会）（4月05——5月05日）是国家级非物质文化遗产 ；二是菏泽国际牡丹花会；三是彭州牡丹花会。
