煤河，位于丰南境内，全长55公里。1878年，经清政府批准开挖运煤河道，史称“煤河”，原胥各庄又称“河头”。煤河曾经河水清澈，蟹肥鱼丰。但是随着工业的发展和人口的增多，煤河逐渐成为排放工业污水和生活废水的河道，河水由清澈而污浊而发出阵阵恶臭，路人经此纷纷掩鼻而过，两岸居民闭窗度暑，群众怨声载道。
