热处理炉是指供炉料热处理加热用的电炉或燃料炉。常用的热处理炉有箱式电阻炉、井式电阻炉、气体渗碳炉和盐浴炉等。通常使用连续式炉，工件从加料门连续装入，通过炉膛，从出料门连续卸出。一般常用的炉内传送方式是，将工件载于耐热钢导轨上，以步进式移动梁或推杆移送。近年来， 逐渐采用耐热钢制输送带运料的方式。这样一来，热处理操作更加合理化，大大增加了热处理过程自动化和无人管理的可能性。
