“炁”是一种形而上的神秘能量,不同于“气”，“炁”是道教专用哲学概念。 炁，qì读音同“气”，指构成人体及维持生命活动的最基本能量和生理机能。先秦和西汉时期，有不少论述炁的著作如《 老子》、《列子》、《 庄子》、《 管子》、《鹖（hé）冠子 》、《 荀（xún ）子》、《淮南子 》、《 黄帝内经》等，大多是道家著作或与道家有关的著作。
由此可见德就是能量，是长养我们人类生命能量的“生者炁”。
