《湖北教育》创刊于 1949年12月。立足湖北，面向全国，以各级教育行政管理干部、广大教师及教学研究人员为自己的读者对象。经过五十多年的探索创新，《湖北教育》已成为湖北省优秀期刊，进入全国期刊方阵，是一份在中国教育期刊群落中影响较大、发行量较大的中文核心期刊。
