海上救助，又称“海难救助”。是指靠外来力量在海上任何水域对遭遇海难的船舶、货物和人命施行的救援。施行救助的外来力量可以是从事救助工作的专业救助公司，也可以是邻近或过往的船舶，包括姊妹船。1981年救助公约草案将海上救助的对象扩大到危险中的任何其他海上财产，以及防止或减轻环境污损。
