测量法（measurement method）是指根据某一规则给测量对象的某些特性分配数值（数值化）的研究方法。测量通常通过量表来完成。按所测得数值的种类和特点，量表可分为：（1）名义量表：测值表示彼此不同的事物，用以区别研究对象的某一特征，它只允许进行次数运算；（2）位次（顺序）量表：测值表示事物的相对关系（顺序关系），它允许按次序统计，但不能作加减乘除运算；（3）间距量表：测值可作加减运算，但不允许作乘除运算；（4）比率量表：测值可进行加减乘除四则运算。测量的条件有：（1）效度，即测量的结果与所要达到的目标相符合的程度；（2）信度，即测量数值的稳定性和可靠性；（3）难度，即测量试题的难易程度；（4）区分度，即最大限度地区分被试的特性和能力的辨别力的大小。测量在教育中有重要的作用，如选拔学生；对学生编班和分组；诊断学习困难，解释成绩不良的原因；提供咨询与个别指导；检查教育或教学目标达到的情况，及时予以调整；激励学生的学习动机等。
