将固体颗粒均匀地堆在有开孔底的容器内,形成一床层,若流体自上而下通过,颗粒并不运动,此种床层成为固体床;若流体自上而下通过床层,低流速时,情况与固体床无异,流速加大则颗粒便活动使床层膨胀,流速进一步加大时,颗粒会彼此离开而在流体中活动,流速愈大,则活动愈剧烈,并在床层内各处各方向运动。最后一种情况称为固体流化态,流化态后颗粒床层称为流化床。将其运用到实际生产生活中的技术就是流化床技术。
