洞市，位于湖南省益阳市安化县东南部，坐落于梅山深处，群山环绕，古淡宁静，是黑茶之乡的核心地域、茶马古道起点。东邻小淹镇、滔溪乡，南与栗林乡和新化县交界，西与田庄乡接壤，北与江南镇毗邻。总面积157.45平方公里，辖33个行政村，总人口20650人。距安化县城东坪镇45公里。 有些中国地图上，湖南版块中可以没有“梅城”，没有“东坪”地名，但一定会有“洞市”的地名。因为这里自古以来就是湘中商贸聚集之地，为安化通往邵阳（原宝庆府）、新化县、溆浦县的必经之路。
