沿空留巷（gob-side entry retaining）采煤工作面后沿采空区边缘维护原回采巷道。为了回收传统采矿方式中留设的保护煤柱。采用一定的技术手段将上一区段的顺槽重新支护留给下一个区段使用。这种留巷的做法是沿着采空区边缘在原顺槽位置保留就称为沿空留巷。沿空留巷可以最大限度回收资源。避免煤体损失。
