水盐运动是指土壤中盐分的水迁移。华北水盐运动非常典型。华北地区春秋季降水相对少，盐分随水分蒸发回到土壤表层；夏季气温高，降水多，雨水对土壤冲刷大，又将盐分冲入土壤深处；而冬季气温低，蒸发弱，因此盐分相对稳定。所以华北地区形成了春秋返盐，夏季淋盐，冬季盐分相对稳定的水盐运动特征。
