板式热交换器是一组波纹金属板组成，板上有四个角孔，供热交换的两种液（气）体通过。金属板片安装在一个侧面有固定板和活动压紧板的框架内，并用夹紧螺栓夹紧。板片上装有密封垫片，将流体通道密封，并且引导流体交替地流至各自的通道内。波纹板不仅提高了湍流程度，并且形成许多支撑点，足以承受介质间的压力差。金属板和活动压紧板悬挂在上导杆，并由下导杆定位，而杆端则固定在支撑柱上。
