正式职工是指与非正式职工对立，与用人单位签订长期劳动合同，即劳动合同制职工，享受国家规定的工资福利待遇。正式工属于一种国家的人员编制，承担相应的工作责任，受劳动法保护，用人单位不得随意辞退，即使辞退也有相应的赔偿。另外有编制的是国家正式职工，比如公务员，事业单位行政编制，国企的正式员工等等。
