槽探是为了揭露基岩，用于观察地质现象和取岩、矿样而从地表挖掘的一种槽形坑道。其横断面通常为倒梯形，槽的深度一般不超过3米。探槽断面规格视浮土性质及槽探深度而定，一般以利于工作、保证安全为原则。
