案例分析方法亦称为个案分析方法或典型分析方法，是对有代表性的事物(现象)深入地进行周密而仔细的研究从而获得总体认识的一种科学分析方法。如研究科学家的综合方法，就可选取牛顿综合法、电磁综合法或爱因斯坦综合法进行专门研究;又如研究科学决策，就可选取典型的决策事件或方案，如《2000年的中国》、《星球大战计划》、《三峡水利工程》等，进行全面而深入的研究。该分析法具有代表性、系统性、深刻性、具体性等特点。
但是，前后5年对比，模型构建和案例分析方法明显增长，阐述法却呈下降趋势；定量分析方法也大幅度的增加。
