极限分析是指假设材料为理想塑性且结构处于小变形状态，研究在塑性极限状态下的结构特性。是塑性力学的一种分析方法。在极限状态下，结构内的应力与变形若同时满足极限条件、破损机构条件、平衡条件、几何条件以及给定的边界条件，由此得到的解即为极限分析的完全解。
