杂散电流是指在设计或规定回路以外流动的电流,也被称为“迷流”。它在土壤中流动,且与被保护管道系统无关。该电流从管道的某一部位B进入管道,该部分称为阴极,电流沿管道流动一段距离后,又从管道C中流出,该部分称为阳极,此处管道产生阳极氧化,即杂散电流腐蚀。杂散电流腐蚀本质上是电化学腐蚀,阳极腐蚀较为严重。如图以直流牵引系统为例。
