古国名，周代称为任，《左传·僖公二十一年》记载，任﹑宿﹑须句﹑颛臾均为太皞之后的风姓国，居住于济水流域，任在今山东济宁。相传唐虞时期的乐正后夔、夏朝君主夏后相均娶妻于有仍；夏朝末代君主夏桀曾于此召开诸侯大会，称为“有仍之会”。 古氏族名，有仍国之后。淸·张澍《姓氏寻源》卷二十五《上声·二十五有》曰：“有仍氏：澍按：《左传》有仍氏生女曰缗，黰发而美，夏后相立为后。” 按：张澍将《左传》里记载的玄妻和后缗混同为一，非是。
