最小抵抗线是指在工程爆破中，通常将药包中心或重心到最近自由面的最短距离，称为最小抵抗线，一般常用W表示。 最小抵抗线取得合理与否，直接关系到各项爆破指标。事实上最小抵抗线是爆破时岩石阻力最小的方向，在这个方向上岩石运动速度最高，爆破作用也最集中。因而最小抵抗线是爆破作用的主导方向，也是抛掷作用的主导方向。
根据具体的地形条件，选择或创造合适的最小抵抗线方向，避免飞石的危害。
