显微照相，是指用照相机和显微镜连接拍照微小痕迹和物体的照相方法。司法鉴定中遇到肉眼看不到或难以分辨的微小物体、痕迹时，可利用显微镜进行观察，采用照相方法记录和固定显微镜中反映的图象，可为鉴定提供形象资料和比对样本。司法鉴定中使用的显微镜主要有：生物显微镜、实体显微镜、比较显微镜、偏光显微镜、荧光显微镜、电子扫描和透射显微镜等。不同的显微镜，作用不同，拍照的方法和要求也有所不同。采用不同的光源及其他辅助器材，可进行紫外显微照相、红外显微照相等。
