《热铁皮屋顶上的猫》(Cat on a Hot Tin Roof)这出剧的名字就来源于剧情给人的无休无止的感觉,很明显,这种说法又源自一个更古老的俗语:好像热砖上的猫(like a cat on hot bricks)。
The play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is named because of the sense of restlessness of the play and is evidently based on an older idiom “like a cat on hot bricks.”
坡屋顶由带柱的门廊支承,两端有门廊(无柱庙宇),廊柱在四周排列(绕柱神庙),或者围有双层柱子。
Was supported by columns with a portico at each end ( amphiprostyle temple ) a colonnade extending all around ( peripheral temple ) or a double line of columns all around ( dipteral temple ).
“通过无檐的屋顶及锯齿形的体量,建筑材料和色彩都达到了连续的效果。”建筑师说。
"The material and colour provide continuity through the absence of eaves, unifying the 'jagged' aspect of the volumes," the architect said.
