新一堂坐西朝东，规模较大。由中轴线上的三进建筑、厢房及东西院墙外的两重侧房组成。中轴线上有台门、天井、门厅七间、天井及两侧厢楼三间、正厅三间及两侧夹屋、天井及两侧厢房二间、后楼三间两弄带夹屋等。第一道侧屋并列九间，北断并有楼厅三间；第二道侧屋并列十三间，其南侧另有跨院两座。整体建筑群形成纵深浅，横向宽的组群布局。主体建筑制作略精，梁架有雕刻。
