教学实习是指高等学校工、理、农、医等科和中等专业学校工、农科在生产实习之前，结合专业课程教学的一种实践性教学形式。通常从低年级开始，在校内实习工场或农场进行，使学生获得生产的感性知识，初步掌握一些生产操作技能，并接受劳动纪律、安全防护、文明生产等教育。区别于综合性的生产实习，内容仅局限于课程要求，实习时间较短。重点是基本功训练，及巩固和加深对所学课程理论的认识，不强调完成生产任务，不宜过早、过多地把学生安排在某一工种的固定操作位置上劳动，以免导致不能全面掌握所需知识和技能。
