技术体系指社会中各种技术之间相互作用、相互联系、按一定目的、一定结构方式组成的技术整体。技术体系是科技生产力的一种具体形式。如炼钢技术同与其联系的炼铁技术、选矿技术、采矿技术及冶金机械设备制造等技术组成的技术整体。技术体系受自然规律和社会因素的制约。技术与技术之间的联系、作用受自然规律的影响，例如炼钢，不但要掌握炼钢技术，还要掌握能源、信息、机械生产等一系列的准备技术，即各专业技术之间存在广泛的联系。同时各项技术之间的联系又受到社会因素制约，因时代、地理、国家的不同，技术之间的联系方式便不同，如从能源技术与其他技术之间的联系看，有水力、煤、石油等能源与其他技术之间的联系，也有原子能、太阳能与其他技术的联系。所以在现实社会中，技术体系是一个极其复杂的纵横交错的立体网络结构。
