慧日（梵语jn~a^na-diva^kara）为佛教词语。意为以日月之光比喻佛之智慧普照众生，能破无明生死痴闇。与‘慧光’、‘慧照’等同义。出自于法华经卷七普门品（大九·五八上）：‘无垢清净光，慧日破诸闇，能伏灾风火，普明照世间。’[无量寿经卷下、华严经探玄记卷二]。
