青光眼病通常只影响到一只眼睛，但另一只眼极易随之患病。发作时间常常在晚间。急性青光眼发作时视线一片模糊，会在灯光外围看到光晕，角膜开始显雾，此时眼睛常会发红、疼痛。当急性青光眼完全发作时，患者头内及眼内会感觉到剧痛，症状持续不退并开始恶化，呕吐、虚脱的症状随之而来。角膜会显得更加朦胧不清，有时甚至会呈现灰黯及颗粒状。同时，眼球会异常疼痛，感觉到已经发胀变硬。
结论双氯芬酸钠能有效减轻急性青光眼手术前后的炎症反应。
