忻定盆地又称忻州盆地在山西省中部偏北，包括滹沱河上游的狭长谷地，南至石岭关。忻州市、定襄县一带，冲积层分布广泛，地势平坦，海拔800--900米，面积为2157平方公里。
定襄县位于山西省北中部，忻定盆地东部。
