库蚊属指的是蚊科库蚊亚科的一属。通称库蚊。广布全世界，是蚊科的第二大属，已知800余种和亚种。中国已知达70余种。幼虫孳生于各类水体或容器积水中。卵通常粘集成卵块，浮于水面。幼虫大都滤食，少数肉食（如贪食库蚊）。雌蚊大都刺吸温血动物的血液，有的也刺吸爬虫类和蛙类血液，少数种类偏嗜人血。斑氏丝虫病、流行性乙型脑炎以及多种马脑脊髓炎等症是由库蚊传播的。
库蚊属的蚊子通常被认为是西尼罗河病毒的主要病媒，特别是库蚊。
