工具价值（instrumental value）是指物品或观念自身所具有的工具性作用。与“表达价值”相对。是表达价值存在的先决条件，即某种商品只有对于消费者具有工具性的作用，才会具有表达价值，否则其表达价值也难于体现。该价值也是影响消费行为的因素之一。参见“表达价值”。
