指尿中含有过多的红细胞。正常情况下，尿液中是没有红细胞的。医学上把病人尿液离心沉淀后，用显微镜来检查，如果每个高倍视野中有5个以上的红细胞，就叫血尿。 若是仅仅在显微镜下查出红细胞，而眼睛看不出来有血的尿，叫做镜下血尿；如果眼睛能看出尿呈“洗肉水样”或带血色，甚至尿中有血丝或血凝块，叫做肉眼血尿。
