清末的职业学校，分初、中、高三等。初等实业学堂相当高中小学程度，有农业、商业、商船三类，修业三年。中等实业学堂相当于中学程度，由农业、工业、商业、商船四类，修业期预科俩年，本科三年。高等实业学堂相当于大学程度，分类同中等，修业期预科一年，本科三年。1913年改为实业学校。
