大洋边缘又称大陆边缘。大陆与深海洋盆之间的过渡地带，是厚而轻的陆壳与薄而重的洋壳之间的接触过渡地带。狭义的大陆边缘主要指淹没于海水下的大陆延续部分，即大陆架与大陆坡。广义的大陆边缘还包括沿岸区（包括海滨）、大陆隆（大陆基）、海沟、岛弧和弧后盆地。
