垂直磁异常（vertical magnetic anomaly）：地磁场垂直分量的异常称为垂直磁异常，用符号zo表示。它是总磁异常强度To的垂直分量。例如用悬丝式或饱和式磁通f J磁力仪进行地面磁法勘探时测定的就是垂直磁异常。根据垂直磁异常的特点可以推断磁性地质体的规模、位置、产状和磁化特点,解决相应的地质问题。
本文给出了由实测重、磁异常计算上半空间一阶垂直导数的一种方法。
