地下害虫，指的是一生或一生中某个阶段生活在土壤中危害植物地下部分、种子、幼苗或近土表主茎的杂食性昆虫。种类很多，主要有蝼蛄、蛴螬、金针虫、地老虎、根蛆、根蝽、根蚜、拟地甲、蟋蟀、根蚧、根叶甲、根天牛、根象甲和白蚁等10多类，共约200余种，分属8目36科。在中国各地均有分布。
