四事，佛教用语，是指衣被、饮食、卧具、医药。佛教早期的历史，曾有「四事供养」之说。 原本，出家的僧侣要专注于修行，无法自谋生路，生活全靠在家檀越的布施来维持。 可是供养也要看对象，确保接受供养的是真正的出家僧侣是必有的前提。
