指善与恶。若再加上无记，则合称为“三性”。一般而言，善指顺理，恶指违理。然于经论中有多种不同说法，依成唯识论卷五之意，能顺益此世、他世之有漏与无漏行法为善；反之，于此世、他世有违损之有漏行法为恶。其善恶之分际，在顺益与违损之差别。且善恶二者皆须贯串此世与他世，否则即为无记。如人、天之乐果，于此世虽为顺益，于他世则不为顺益，故非为善，而为无记性。又如恶趣之苦果，于此世虽为违损，于他世则不为违损，故亦非恶，而为无记性。
