单一汇率是复合汇率的对称。在实行外汇管制的国家，对同一种外汇仅规定一种官方汇率，各种外汇交易均按这同一汇率结算。在单一汇率制下，银行对每一种外汇如挂出买、卖双档牌价，因有汇差收益，在外汇交易中不再另向客户收取手续费，如对每一种外汇只挂出一个单档牌价，银行买卖外汇时都使用这同一牌价，因无汇差，故须逐笔按规定费率向客户计收手续费。
