北豆根，别名蝙蝠葛，拉丁文名Menispermum dauricum DC.为防己科植物蝙蝠葛的根茎。蝙蝠葛多年生缠绕藤本，生于山坡林缘、灌丛中、田边、路旁及石砾滩地，或攀援于岩石上，喜温暖、凉爽的环境，25～30℃最适宜生长。不耐寒，绝对低温5℃时生长停滞。一般土壤均能种植。忌积水。分布于东北、华北、华东及陕西、宁夏、甘肃等地。
