前药，也称前体药物、药物前体、前驱药物等，是指药物经过化学结构修饰后得到的在体外无活性或活性较小、在体内经酶或非酶的转化释放出活性药物而发挥药效的化合物。1958年，Albert在英国自然杂志上发表文章提出了前体药物的概念。目前已经在神经系统药物，抗肿瘤系统药物和抗病毒药物有着很大的作用。
