准静态过程是指系统从一个平衡状态向另一个平衡状态变化时经历的全部状态的总合。过程是系统平衡被破坏的结果。若系统从一个平衡状态连续经过无数个中间的平衡状态过渡到另一个平衡状态，即过程中系统偏离平衡状态无限小并且随时恢复平衡状态，过程均匀缓慢且无任何突变，这样的过程称为准平衡过程或准静态过程。
