“兴象”为唐人殷璠所提出,强调艺术形象应具有兴的托物言志和喻情的作用,指诗人的情感、精神对物象的统摄,使之和诗人心灵的颤动融为一体,从而获得生命、具有个性和活力。从形象生成的角度看,兴象指的主要是形象蕴涵的更为深远的意旨,或者说是形象能够引发的超出形象本身的更为深远的情蕴。中国古代审美理论十分重视形象的这一特点,并把之作为衡量形象是否成功的重要标尺。
