位置变送器属于电容式位移测量的技术领域。输出端有一个产生吸收电流的电路，对电流零点的调整提供了便利条件，可用于4～20mA及0～10mA两种制式。变送器有一个外露的顶杆，受压时产生位移，变送器内有一个位移放大装置，使极板的移动放大若干倍，可对10mm以内的小行程进行高精度测量，顶杆的尾部有机械调零装置，其调整范围为有效行程的数倍，它克服了多电极电容式变送器在零点迁移过大时影响测量精度的问题。
