焚如：火刑。 历史记载：《资治通鉴》卷三十七，汉纪二十九，王莽天凤元年，公元14年。匈奴求和亲，王莽派遣王昭君兄弟的儿子，和亲侯歙等出使匈奴，请匈奴送还叛将陈良、终带等二十七人。莽做“焚如”之刑，烧杀陈良等。（应邵曰：易有焚如、死如、弃如之言，莽依次作刑名也。）
