A method for the synthesis of hexylene glycol by catalytic hydrogenation from diacetone is presented.

Also used as a raw material in the manufacture of methyl iso-butyl ketone, di-acetone alcohol, hexylene glycol, methyl methacrylate and fine chemicals.
