Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said, 'Leave her alone!
So Gehazi went back to meet Elisha and told him, 'The boy has not awakened.'
Now Gehazi has another choice! Will he choose to cover his sin, or confess it?
When he saw her in the distance, the man of God said to his servant Gehazi, 'Look! There's the Shunammite!
And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing.
At the end of the story of Naaman's healing we find the sad story about Elisha's servant Gehazi.
The king was talking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, and had said, 'Tell me about all the great things Elisha has done.'
And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.
Gehazi said, 'this is the woman, my Lord the king, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.'
Gehazi was probably thinking of all the nice things he could have bought with even a little of that silver and gold.
And Gehazi said, My Lord, o king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
So Gehazi hurried after Naaman. When Naaman saw him running toward him, he got down from the chariot to meet him. 'Is everything all right?' he asked.
So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?
And Gehazi said, My Lord, o king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
Not only would Gehazi suffer the most dreaded disease of that day, but his children and grandchildren, and the following generations would suffer as well!
Even though Gehazi knew Elisha was a prophet of God, Gehazi chose to try to cover his sin with another lie.
Rather than rejoicing in the wonderful miracle God had done for Naaman, Gehazi's greedy heart could only think of getting more money and things for himself.
以利沙吩咐基哈西说:「你束上腰,手拿我的杖前去;若遇见人,不要向他问安;
Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not;
He said to his servant Gehazi, 'call the Shunammite.' So he called her, and she stood before him.
And he said to Gehazi his servant, call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.
Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had brought back to life came to beg the king for her house and land.
